About Us

Holt Village Hall is run by a small Committee of local volunteers, who deal with the daily management and regular maintenance of the property.  It is a registered charity and all funds that we receive from hiring the Hall are used on the upkeep of the property.

We do not employ a caretaker and rely on the people that hire the Hall to be respectful to keep the Hall clean and tidy for everyone to use.

The Hall was constructed in the c1840 as a school for the village.  The school was closed in 1973 when St James’ CE School was built in Gaunts Common.  Not many people realise but the building was constructed on Bankes Estate land, and as such the Hall and the Village Green are now managed by the National Trust.  The Trustees of Holt Village Hall, currently rent the Hall from the National Trust.  For full information and photos please see our History page.

Any support we receive is greatly appreciated.  You can volunteer to help with the maintenance or become a member of the Committee.
